Aladdin and his Magic Lamp

The Stage Club has entertained Singapore with a fun-filled family show every Christmas for over fifty years. This year we are proud to present Aladdin and his Magic Lamp, the story of a poor but honest boy who falls in love with the emperor’s daughter. Will Aladdin win the hand of the beautiful Princess Jasmine? Find out in this year’s exciting pantomime.

Set on the streets of Old Peking, the show features a colourful cast of characters including Aladdin’s mother, Widow Twanky, the owner of the local laundry – and her loveable sidekick Wishee-Washee; a couple of idiots named Mustapha and Fatimah, and Abanazzar, Aladdin’s long-lost uncle – or is he?

Audiences can expect plenty of singing and dancing accompanied by a live band, as well as lots of silly jokes and comic antics, in a show that’s guaranteed to have them rolling in the aisles.

Children are actively encouraged to join in the traditional banter between cast and audience - “Where is he, boys and girls?” “He’s behind you!” - and to sing along with the familiar tunes. A lucky few will even get to take part in the action.
