Alarms and Excursions

A Comedy by Michael Frayn 27th - 30th September

The Singapore Premiere of "Alarms and Excursions" by this year’s Tony Award-winning playwright, Michael Frayn ("Copenhagen", "Noises Off’).

"Alarms and Excursions" sees Frayn return in sparkling comic form as he takes a wry look at our increasingly desperate reliance on technology. In the opening play, ‘Alarms’, an cosy dinner party collapses in mayhem as the gadgets turn on their masters. In the final play, "Immobiles" the numerous phones and phone messages lead to total confusion and increasing desperation. And there are six more hilarious plays in between...

Seen to critical acclaim at the Gielgud Theatre, London, in 1998, "Alarms and Excursions" is directed by Nick Perry whose past productions include: Tom Stoppard’s "Arcadia" and "The Real Thing", Neil Simon’s "Rumours", Ben Elton’s "Gasping" and "An Evening with Gary Lineker" and features a highly experienced cast.

"The funniest play of the year" The Guardian

"This is simply breathtakingly, comfortingly and appallingly funny. Frayn is writing about life and living, and how living with its props and artificial needs, keeps getting in the way of life" The Sunday Times

"A clever light buffet of ideas from a master of observational comedy, the show is a welcome reminder of Frayn’s extraordinary talent." The Daily Express
